Relay tracker
In a mountain bike relay race a small team takes turns riding laps for hours. The team needs to know who is on the course, how each lap went and who is starting to fade, and it needs to know it from several phones at once.
Approach
The tracker is a small web app. One tap records a lap or a handover, and every phone in the team sees the same data within seconds. If a phone loses coverage it keeps working and syncs when the signal comes back.
On top of the timing it shows statistics and charts per rider: pace, drop from the best lap and signs of fatigue. A lap with a puncture or a crash can be flagged as an incident, so it counts in the total but does not distort the fatigue numbers.
It runs on Netlify Functions with Netlify Blobs for storage.
Status
The tracker is deployed and working. The interface is in Spanish for now.
